4 cups potatoes, peeled and cubed

1 pound ground beef

3 cans tomato sauce

1 small onion, chopped

4 cups water

1 – 2 teaspoon pepper sauce, hot

2 teaspoon salt

1 – 2 teaspoons black pepper


1. Brown the ground beet in a Dutch oven.

Use medium heat and allow to cool until the pink color disappears.

2. Drain the beef and then add the potatoes with the tomato sauce and onion.

3.   Add water, black pepper, hot pepper sauce, and salt.

4.    Bring to boil.

5.    Reduce heat and simmer for 50 minutes or until the potatoes become very tender and while the soup thickens.

6.    Start serving.


  • The peeled  potatoes can be ½ inches in size.
  • You can use 8 ounces of tomato sauce instead of 3 cans.
