This healthy peanut butter and banana sandwich is a staple in most homes.
If you ask most people what was the first sandwich that they made growing up, they will say peanut butter.
Well this is a variation on the plain peanut butter sandwich that is a favorite for most households.
We kept it lower in fat and calories by not frying the sandwich and not adding honey or bacon.
Now we know that the version that has honey and bacon and that is fried has been referred to as an “Elvis sandwich.
Well, you can certainly add these additional ingredients if you desire, just bear in mind the fat and calories if you are trying to remain health conscious.
The key to this healthy peanut butter and banana sandwich is the high quality wheat bread and the natural peanut butter.
You can use sprouted bread as well for another version of healthy bread and organic bananas.

Yield: 1servings
1 tablespoon natural peanut butter
2 slices whole wheat bread
1 small banana sliced
Toast the wheat bread
Slice the banana lengthwise (at least 3 slices)
Spread the peanut butter on the toasted slices
Lay the banana slices on one slice of bread and cover with the second slice
Cut the sandwich into two in the shape of a triangle
Tips: You can use natural crunchy peanut butter for a crunchy sandwich taste
