Scrumptious Fish Soup Recipe

You can follow a simple fish soup recipe if you desire to eat healthy. It’s very hearty and spicy. You don’t need to spend much time in getting the sauce prepared. All you need is to gather the recommended ingredients. The cooking guideline is very simple.

Fish soup can be very tasty when it’s prepared with healthy seafood products. You can use halibut, salmon, tuna, trout or any other seafood type to get the sauce prepared. You can take it alongside other healthy dishes during lunch or dinner. Given below is a simple recipe to follow:

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Yield: 3 servings

 

Ingredients:

1 halibut fillet, sliced into pieces

1 can diced tomatoes with un-drained garlic, oregano and basil

1 cup chicken broth

1 small minced garlic clove

2 small chopped shallots

¼ teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon seafood seasoning

¾ cup frozen mixed vegetables

½ cup hash brown potatoes, cubed and frozen

2 bay leaves

¼ teaspoon ground allspice

Dash cayenne pepper

 

Tips:

·       You can substitute halibut with any other type of fish such as trout, tilapia, whitefish and so on

·       The amount of ingredients increases or decreases depending on the number of serving targeted.

 

 

Directions:

1.    Coat a large saucepan with cooking spray.

2.    Gently fry shallots and garlic in the sauce pan until tender

3.    Add mixed vegetables, broth, tomatoes, hash browns, sugar, seafood seasoning, cayenne, bay leaves, and allspice.

4.    Bring to a boil and reduce heat

5.    Simmer uncovered for 5 minutes until the vegetables become tender

6.    Add halibut and simmer for extra 3 minutes or more until the fish turns opaque.

7.    Discard the bay leaves before serving
