Size per Serving:    2 Slices


½ teaspoon vanilla extract

¼ cup fresh squeezed orange juice

2 egg whites

6 slices bread

2 tablespoons orange marmalade


1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

2. Spray nonstick vegetable spray on cookie sheet.

3. Beat vanilla extract, the orange juice and egg whites together in a medium sized bowl.

4. Dip the bread slices on both sides in the mixture.

5. Place on the sprayed cookie sheet.

6. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

7. Turn over after 7 minutes to brown the other side.

8. Serve with the orange marmalade.

Tips: You can use French bread instead of regular slice bread.

For more orange flavor, you can add 2 tablespoons of orange zest from the fresh squeezed oranges to the mixture used to dip the bread into.

For a creamier taste add ½ cup of half-and-half to the mixture used to dip the bread into.
